Inside the Free Tier

Everything you get, and how each piece works

The KDCC Free Tier is a real product, not a teaser. Eleven things, no card, no expiry. Six of them don't even need an account.

When you're planning a new video

The KANDO Method tells you what to film

Most creators film what feels right and hope. The KANDO Method is a worksheet you walk every video idea through. Five questions: Knowledge, Audience, New(s), Data, Optimization. Fill it out, upload it to ChatGPT or Claude with the built-in prompt, and you get titles, thumbnails, hooks, and a full description back in your voice. Andrew Kan built it growing TubeBuddy's channel from 6,000 to 530,000+ subscribers.

Read the method

When you've got a thumbnail to test

The Discord tells you if it'll work

Most creators publish and find out at midnight when the CTR tanks. Post a thumbnail before you publish and creators who are shipping videos right now tell you whether it reads at phone size. For a full video you run a command and a thread opens where the team leaves specific notes, not AI scores. Your first one is free, then it runs on give and take. Ike Do built the KDCC Discord and runs it. 2,500+ creators inside.

Creator Resources

70+ YouTube tools the team has put through real work, sorted into edit, thumbnails, music, community, SEO, recording, monetization, scripting, and going live. Each tagged free, freemium, or premium so you can filter by what you can afford today. The ones marked KDCC Pick are what we reach for ourselves.

Affiliate Programs directory

135 programs with their real commission rate, payout method, and minimum. 38 pay recurring, so you earn again every month someone stays subscribed. Twelve don't pay money at all, and we say which ones, because a free month or store credit is not income. Most have no subscriber minimum.

The YouTube Glossary

Search any of 300+ YouTube, Studio, and creator economy terms and get a plain-English definition with no jargon looping back on itself. It covers the metrics that trip everyone up: impressions, click-through rate, average view duration, RPM, CPM, retention.

Audience Visualizer

Enter your subscriber count and it renders that number as a room full of actual people. Most targeting problems come from the audience staying a statistic, and seeing 1,200 subscribers as 1,200 humans changes how you write the title.

The KDCC Blog

Where the detail goes that won't fit in a chat message or a call: thumbnail specs, tag strategy, how the algorithm decides what to surface, Shorts changes, analytics walkthroughs, and member results with the moves behind them. No signup wall, no article counter.

Setup Guide and monthly Q&A

The Channel Setup Guide arrives the day you join and walks the foundations most channels get wrong once and live with for years: channel art, end screens, playlists, and what monetization actually requires. Then once a month the founders answer whatever the community brings, live, free tier included.

Newcomer Spotlight

No level required, which is the whole idea. Come in, ask for feedback, give some back, share a first win, and you can be featured in your first month. It earns a badge, a pinned welcome in front of the whole server, and a head start on everything below. Most people assume recognition is for the veterans. This one is deliberately not.

Top Contributor

Reach Silver, which is roughly 90 messages in the channels that count, and you're eligible. Members nominate each other with a reaction and the team reviews every one by hand. What we weigh most is turning up to the live sessions and leaving feedback people can actually use. Winners get a free month of KDCC Membership with no card needed, a Hall of Fame spot, the full perk set, and an entry into a drawing for a free year of KDCC Membership. After the free month, nothing is charged unless you add a card. Membership prizes go to winners 18 or older.

Why so much of The KDCC is free

We give back because we Kan.

Three of our seven values are the reason the KANDO Method, the glossary, the affiliate directory, the audience visualizer and the blog are open to anyone. For a lot of creators the free tier genuinely is enough, and we'd rather say so than pretend otherwise.

Think Cost. The less you have, the more it matters that you spend well

So the things that cost us nothing to give away are given away

Empower Others. If we can help and it takes nothing from us, it should be done

That's the whole test for what we put behind an account

Every Winner Was Once a Beginner. Creating is frustrating, personal, and confusing

We have been there, so the way in has never had a price on it

Free Tier · FAQ

Free Tier, no catch

Honest answers to what people ask before joining the Free Tier of The Kan Do Creators Community. Written by Andrew Kan, Ike Do, and the KDCC team.

Is the Free Tier of The KDCC really free?

Yes. The Free Tier of The Kan Do Creators Community is free forever, with no credit card and no trial period. You get the KDCC Discord with 2,500+ YouTube creators, the KANDO Method growth framework, the KANDO Method Worksheet, the Channel Setup Guide, the weekly Kan Do Newsletter from Andrew Kan, the monthly live Q&A, Top Contributor awards, and the KDCC Blog at no cost. KDCC Membership is there if live group coaching becomes useful for you, but you are never required to upgrade.

What is the catch with the Free Tier?

There is no catch. Andrew Kan and Ike Do built the Free Tier as the actual product, not a sales funnel. Most YouTube creators already pay for tools they do not use. If we can put real growth resources in front of you for free, we would rather have you join, see if it helps, and decide later whether group coaching is worth $99.99 a month. Paying members keep everything in the Free Tier. KDCC Membership adds live group coaching calls and a private member Discord on top.

Do I need a credit card to join the Free Tier?

No. The Free Tier signup form does not ask for a credit card. You will not be charged a card you never saved. If you choose to upgrade later, KDCC Membership is $99.99 a month or $995.90 a year with 2 months free. It starts with a 7 day free trial, and you pay with a card you choose when you upgrade. KDCC Membership renews automatically until you cancel. You see the price and how often you’re charged before you pay, and you can cancel any time from your Billing page. If you stay past the trial, you have 30 days from your first payment to get a full refund.

Will The KDCC spam me with upgrade emails if I join free?

No drip campaigns pushing you to upgrade. Joining the Free Tier signs you up for the weekly Kan Do Newsletter from Andrew Kan on what is moving on YouTube this week and what to ignore. You can unsubscribe at the bottom of any email and keep your free KDCC Discord access and KDCC member account. The Kan Do Newsletter is the strategy newsletter, not a sales tool.

Can I stay on the Free Tier of The KDCC forever?

Yes. There is no clock on the Free Tier. You can stay free for as long as you want and keep using the KDCC Discord, the KANDO Method framework and worksheet, the Channel Setup Guide, the weekly Kan Do Newsletter, the monthly live Q&A with Andrew Kan and Ike Do, Top Contributor awards, and the KDCC Blog without paying anything. The Free Tier is part of the community, not a trial.

What is the difference between the Free Tier and KDCC Membership?

The Free Tier is the open community. KDCC Membership is the one paid plan, and it adds live group coaching and a private member Discord on top. The Free Tier includes the KDCC Discord, the KANDO Method framework and worksheet, Channel Setup Guide, weekly newsletter, monthly live Q&A, Top Contributor awards, and the KDCC Blog. KDCC Membership at $99.99 a month, or $995.90 a year, adds 48 live group coaching calls a year, about 4 a month on Fridays, with Andrew Kan, Ike Do, and the KDCC team. It also adds a private member Discord where questions get answered within 48 hours, a channel or SEO review every month, 4 live workshops a year, the Growth Template Vault, and a replay library of 40+ past sessions. It starts with a 7 day free trial and is capped at 75 members. If you want feedback on a schedule from people who have grown channels, that is what KDCC Membership is for.

Is the Free Tier only for experienced YouTubers?

No. The Free Tier is built for creators starting from zero, returning after a break, or rebuilding a channel that has stalled. The Channel Setup Guide covers launch fundamentals. The KANDO Method works for small channels because it is a planning framework, not a paid promotion tactic. The free KDCC Discord is full of creators at every stage answering questions for each other. Many KDCC members joined the free tier before they uploaded their first video and used it to plan a foundation that actually grows.

Does Andrew Kan offer 1:1 YouTube consulting outside the KDCC?

Yes. Andrew Kan offers private 1:1 YouTube consulting separate from KDCC Membership. Strategy Sessions start at $199.99 for 90 minutes with Andrew directly. Channel Audits at $999.99 and Monthly Advisory starting at $2,499.99 a month are available for brands and creator teams. 1:1 consulting is for creators and companies who want Andrew's strategy work applied to their specific channel or team. See kdcc.social/pages/consulting for current services and to book.

Who built The KDCC and why should I trust them?

Andrew Kan and Ike Do built The KDCC. Andrew Kan was the first full-time hire at TubeBuddy and grew the TubeBuddy YouTube channel from 6,000 to over 530,000 subscribers. He earned 2 YouTube Play Buttons directly, the TubeBuddy and StreamYard Silvers, and helped earn 11 more as part of a team, for 13 in total. He was YouTube & Video Manager for Salesforce Global Recruitment Marketing, and as part of the TubeBuddy team he contributed to YouTube strategy work for Fox Sports, BBC, Paramount, and Family Feud. He built the KANDO Method out of what kept working across that work. Ike Do grew TubeBuddy's Discord to 15,000+ creators and co-managed the TubeBuddy community forums reaching 100,000+ members. The KDCC is what they built when they decided to put what worked into one room, free.
